This study investigated the effects of oral diazepam administered at home to fearful child patients prior to dental treatment. Twenty-five healthy, uncooperative children, mean age 3 years 8 months (+/- 1 year 3 months), requiring at least three visits for the treatment of dental caries, were studied. The effects of chronic administration of aminophylline (AMPH; 50 mg/kg, twice daily for 14 consecutive days) were studied on both antielectroshock efficacy of diazepam (DZP) and convulsive activity of AMPH in mice. This article presents data on the relationship between the recent drinking histories of 80 healthy men aged 18 to 25 years and their intensities of reaction to challenges with 0.75 ml/kg of ethanol, 0.12 mg/kg of diazepam, and 0.20 mg/kg of diazepam.
