STUDY OBJECTIVE: To evaluate 24-hour blood pressure control and frequency of adverse effects in patients with mild to moderate hypertension switched from nifedipine gastrointestinal therapeutic system (Nif-GITS) to nifedipine coat core (Nif-CC).

The antiviral efficacy of WIN 54954 was demonstrated in vivo in a Coxsackie B 3 virus (Woodruff strain) induced myocarditis mouse model. The model was selected because of the high mortality rate during the first week, which was convenient for antiviral therapy regimen studies. The single dose pharmacokinetics of 4 commercially available 100 mg oral aspirin formulations were studied in 6 healthy men and 6 healthy women. The Pharmacokinetics and clinical effectiveness of cefdinir (CFDN, FK482) were examined in pediatric patients. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Plasma concentrations and urinary excretions of CFDN after administration of 5% fine granules were investigated on 4 children at a dose level of 6 mg/kg. Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is defined as the incomplete separation of the two cerebral hemispheres. The pathology of HPE is variable and, based on the severity of the defect, HPE is divided into alobar, semilobar, and lobar. This paper reports on the effectiveness of oral lamotrigine in 15 patients suffering from "essential" trigeminal neuralgia and in five patients suffering symptomatic trigeminal neuralgia concomitant with multiple sclerosis. We recorded objective and subjective pain ratings and correlated them to daily dosage (400 mg maximum) and plasma levels of the drug. Thirty patients with different forms of epilepsy were treated with toreal in dosage 200 mg per day. The clinical efficacy was assessed after 8 and 12 weeks. Depot forms of fluphenazine are frequently used in the outpatient treatment of psychiatric patients. To gather relevant data on pharmacokinetic characteristics of depot fluphenazines, the authors measured plasma levels of neuroleptic activity in 76 clinic patients on stable dosage regimens of fluphenazine decanoate or fluphenazine enanthate.
