Extending the Information Systems Success Model to Explain E-Health Adoption in Saudi Arabia.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Previous studies have found system quality, information quality, and service quality to be significant factors affecting the adoption of e-health services. Exploring cultural imaginaries of robots with children with brittle bone disease: a participatory design study.

A symbiotic relationship exists between narrative imaginaries of and real-life advancements in technology. Such cultural imaginings have a powerful influence on our understanding of the potential that technology has to affect our lives; as a result, narrative-based approaches to participatory design (PD) of technology are an active area of investigation. In this ongoing study, the following research questions are addressed: how can PD be optimised for the fields of robotics and assistive technology, particularly with regard to fostering empowerment and eliciting how people imagine the role of t…

Experiences of Mothers/Caregivers of Neonates Who Received Novel Positioning Along With Physiotherapy Interventions in the Intensive Care Unit: A Qualitative Study.

This study aims to explore the caregiver empowerment regarding the novel device and physiotherapy interventions in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Physiotherapeutic interventions in the NICU are among the earliest neurodevelopmental strategies provided to preterm infants. These include multisensory stimulations, along with flexed positioning that can support developmental progress. However, the emotional toll on mothers and caregivers during a neonate's NICU admission, especially with added therapeutic procedures, remains a less explored domain. Gaining insight into their experiences …

How Milieu Design Impacts Patient Autonomy in Behavioral Health.

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to investigate how environmental affordances in the behavioral health inpatient milieu affect a patient's sense of autonomy.BackgroundPatients who feel empowered are more likely to participate in their care, which can, in turn, improve the quality of care (Ippolito et al. 2020). However, the lack of patient empowerment can have negative consequences in behavioral health facilities such as intensified physical violence, aggression, and loneliness in the milieu (Bellman et al., 2022; Dell et al., 2019; Hickmann et al. 2022). Research has also demonstrated t…

Empowering telemetry technicians and enhancing communication to improve in-hospital cardiac arrest survival.

Delays in treatment of in-hospital cardiac arrests (IHCAs) are associated with worsened survival. We sought to assess the impact of a bundled intervention on IHCA survival in patients on centralised telemetry. A retrospective quality improvement study was performed of a bundled intervention which incorporated (1) a telemetry hotline for telemetry technicians to reach nursing staff; (2) empowerment of telemetry technicians to directly activate the IHCA response team and (3) a standardised escalation system for automated critical alerts within the nursing mobile phone system. In the 4-year study…

This article specifically focuses on identifying the mechanisms of action that were responsible for improving mental health and well-being among those who participated in AWARE randomized controlled trial. Claustrophobia-empowering the patient.

• Claustrophobia, a phobic anxiety disorder, is a well-known relative contraindication for MR, and anxiety or fear is triggered by confinement or the prospect of confinement in the MR environment.• Within the field of MR, claustrophobia is generally counteracted by reducing or deflecting attention from triggering stimuli in the MR environment by technical means, which increases relaxation and comfort and thus improves compliance.• Psychological interventions and self-empowerment of patients might become the next level of coping strategies.
