OBJECTIVE: To understand management of patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) in routine US clinical practice to identify gaps in patient care.
DESIGN: Retrospective analysis of electronic medical records from the Vestrum database.
PARTICIPANTS: Treatment-naive eyes newly diagnosed with nAMD from January 1, 2014, with ≥1-years' follow-up.
METHODS: Cumulative incidence of eyes receiving treatment was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier, and factors predicting anti-VEGF receipt through 1 year were evaluated by logistic regression.

BACKGROUND: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) implemented the Polytrauma System of Care to meet the health care needs of military and veterans with multiple injuries returning from combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Studies are needed to systematically assess barriers to use of comprehensive and exclusive VA healthcare services from the perspective of veterans with polytrauma and with other complex health outcomes following their service in Afghanistan and Iraq. These perspectives can inform policy with regard to the optimal delivery of care to returning veterans.

AIMS: To evaluate visual acuity (VA) outcomes of cataract surgery, and factors associated with good visual outcomes, among a population with diabetes.
METHODS: Participants with type 2 diabetes enrolled in The Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) study and ACCORD-eye substudy. 1136 eyes of 784 ACCORD participants receiving cataract surgery during follow-up (2001-2014) were included.
