Evaluation of the guideline-adherence of coronary angiography in patients with suspected chronic coronary syndrome - Results from the German prospective multicentre ENLIGHT-KHK project.

BACKGROUND: With 900'000 coronary angiographies (CA) per year, Germany has the highest annual per capita volume in Europe. Until now there are no prospective clinical data on the degree of guideline-adherence in the use of CA in patients with suspected chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) in Germany. METHODS: Between January 2019 and August 2021, 458 patients with suspected CCS were recruited in nine German centres. Guideline-adherence was evaluated according to the current European Society of Cardiology and German guidelines. Pre-test probability (PTP) for CAD was determined using age, gender, an

Longitudinal associations between adherence to 24-h movement guidelines and physical fitness and body composition in pediatric overweight and obesity.

This study investigated the longitudinal associations between adherence to the 24-h Movement Guidelines (24-HMG), specifically, meeting the recommendations for moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) (≥ 60 min/day), recreational screen time (≤ 2 h/day), and sleep (9-11 h/night), and one-year changes in physical fitness and body composition among overweight and obese children. Particularly, the study identified whether the number and specific combinations of 24-HMG adherence were associated with more favorable health outcomes in this high-risk pediatric group. A prospective cohort of 337

Comparing the riskiness and determinants of non-adherence to five quarantine and isolation guidelines: A dynamic cohort study during COVID-19.

OBJECTIVES: Isolation and quarantine are core strategies in managing infectious disease outbreaks. In-depth analyses comparing adherence patterns over time during COVID-19 are lacking. Here we examine five distinct isolation and quarantine behaviours, the prevalence of low-versus high-risk violations, and predictors of (high-risk) violations. STUDY DESIGN: We used survey data (>1 million survey records) from a dynamic cohort study throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. METHODS: We depict isolation and quarantine adherence patterns, and the riskiness of violations over time. Usi

Suboptimal Adherence to Hereditary Cancer Risk Management Guidelines: A Cohort Study of High-Risk Individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Hereditary cancer syndromes (HCSs), including BRCA 1/2-associated hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC) and Lynch syndrome (LS), confer substantial lifetime cancer risks, yet adherence to recommended risk-management strategies remains variable. This population-based retrospective cohort study examined cancer prevention practices, outcomes, and predictors of cancer occurrence among 476 BRCA and LS carriers identified through the Provincial Medical Genetics Program in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada (2001-2022). Linked genetic, surgical, screening, and cancer registry data were evaluated

Adherence to 2020 US Multi-Society Task Force Guidelines for Post-Polypectomy Surveillance: a Multicenter Real-Time Analysis.

PURPOSE: The U.S. Multi-Society Task Force (USMSTF) updated its 2020 guidelines to recommend less frequent post-polypectomy surveillance, yet premature colonoscopies remain common. Since the guidelines were published 5 years ago, we hypothesized that adherence has improved over time. We also aim to identify factors associated with non-adherence. METHODS: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study of 452 patients. 1st surveillance colonoscopies performed between 2020 and 2025 were included. Findings from pathology reports for both index and first surveillance colonoscopies were recorded

Lithium Point-of-Care Testing to Improve Adherence to Monitoring Guidelines and Quality of Maintenance Therapy: Protocol for a Randomised Feasibility Trial.

Lithium is the first-line treatment for bipolar disorders and a first-line augmentation option for treatment-resistant unipolar depression. Due to its narrow therapeutic window and risk of toxicity, people taking lithium require regular blood testing to monitor lithium levels in the body. However, studies have reported that only half of lithium-treated patients receive adequate lithium monitoring. This protocol describes a trial that will test the feasibility and acceptability of a point-of-care (POC) lithium blood testing programme in patients with unipolar or bipolar affective disorders taki

Perceived stress, adherence to dietary guidelines and incident cardiovascular disease: findings from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health.

Previous research suggests perceived stress and healthy eating are associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, but studies investigating their combined association are lacking. The aim was to assess associations between stress, adherence to dietary guidelines and CVD, individually and combined. Data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health (ALSWH) including 9303 women (52 ± 2 y) without history of CVD were analysed. Dietary and perceived stress data were collected with validated questionnaires, respectively, with the 74 item food frequency questionnaire and a questionnai

An Evaluation of the Impact of Genetic Counseling on Adherence to the 2011 American Academy of Pediatrics Health Supervision Guidelines for Children With Down Syndrome.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) health supervision guidelines for children with Down syndrome are important for preventative and symptom-based care. Studies, however, have shown low overall adherence to these care recommendations due to a lack of provider familiarity, inaccessibility of a medical home, and caregiver burden. In a population of children with Down syndrome, using a retrospective chart review, we evaluated overall patient adherence to the medical components of the 2011 AAP guidelines, along with potential influencing factors, to determine if there was a difference in adhe
