Retroperitoneal fibrosis generally occurs above the pelvic brim and is rarely encountered by the gynecologist. In the case presented, the fibrosis first became manifest in the pelvis and simulated metastatic carcinoma of the cervix. Treatment with cyclophosphamide and prednisone produced an apparent remission.

This study aimed to explore attitudes towards cervical cancer screening among Japanese university students who had never had a Pap smear. Four focus-group discussions, each with 15 female university students, took place in November and December 2009.
