Single complete denture is a common occurrence which needs special attention in treatment. Denture reinforcement with metallic occlusion is recommended to prevent fracture of denture and wearing of artificial teeth. Various methods have been reported in the literature for metallic occlusion, which either compromise on aesthetics of the premolar teeth or need repeated procedures. This case reports the use of three-fourths metal crowns to achieve metallic occlusions in single complete denture.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Adverse reactions to metal debris have been reported to be a cause of pain in metal-on-metal hip arthroplasty. We assessed the incidence of both symptomatic and asymptomatic adverse reactions in a consecutive series of patients with a modern large-head metal-on-metal hip arthroplasty.
METHODS: We studied the early clinical results and results of routine metal artifact-reduction MRI screening in a series of 79 large-head metal-on-metal hip arthroplasties (ASR; DePuy, Leeds, UK) in 68 patients. 75 hips were MRI scanned at mean 31 (12-52) months after surgery.

This prospective study examined patient characteristics and radiographic findings for 89 subjects undergoing total hip resurfacing. Thirteen (14.6%) of 89 hips have required revision. Female sex, smaller implant size, and diagnosis of osteonecrosis were associated with lower device survival. This study is dedicated to the problems met with metal-metal bearing prostheses. We have analysed the results of the reports sent to the AFSSAPS relating incidents described with this interface. Only 11 incidents were reported during the last 4 years by surgeons from different centers in France. This paper reviews recent studies on the influence of trace metal exposure history on subsequent metal uptake in marine invertebrates, particularly bivalves and barnacles.
