A case of extragenital choriocarcinoma which produces human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the small intestine of a 48-yr-old Japanese women is reported. Only seven such cases have been reported. Primitive omental leiomyomas are very rare. The primitive omental location of the leiomyoma is quite difficult to determine, with the possible presence of "parasite" myomas and of omental metastasizing myomas. Moreover, omental masses may be primitive or secondary metastasis from neoplasms. In this case report a primitive omental leiomyoma is described, and their diagnosis and management are briefly discussed, in order to improve the knowledge of this very uncommon disease.

Malignant carotid body tumors are rare neoplasms which originate from the chemoreceptor cells at the carotid bifurcation. A 61-year-old man presented with a neck mass which was diagnosed as a malignant carotid body tumor. Surgical resection of the mass with accompanying lymph nodes was performed. No evidence for local recurrence or distant metastasis were detected during the follow-up period.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Surgical treatment for spinal metastasis is still controversial. However, with the improvements in treatment for primary tumors, the survival rate of patients with spinal metastasis is enhanced. At the same time, surgical technique for spinal metastasis has also improved.

Hypertrophic pulmonary Osteoarthropathy is most commonly encountered in association with bronchogenic carcinoma and tumours of the pleura. Its association with pulmonary metastasis from extrathoracic neoplasms is rare. Aggressive digital papillary adenocarcinoma (ADPA) is a rare cutaneous adnexal neoplasm that occurs on the fingers, toes, palms, and soles. It is characterized by aggressive biological behavior, with a relatively high potential for local recurrence (30%-40% of cases) and distant metastasis (up to 14%). This retrospective study assessed the mutation status of ADPA lesions to identify possible therapeutic targets. We performed comprehensive genomic profiling of 9 ADPA cases that had been identified in our database. We identified a BRAF-V600E (BRAF c.1799T>A p.V600E) mutation in 1 patient (11%).
