INTRODUCTION: Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common eye tumour in children and is curable. Patients with hereditary RB have increased risk of developing additional tumours, predominantly sarcomas. The published results on the treatment of bilateral RB have shown that 10-15% of patients develop second primary tumours (SPT). INTRODUCTION: A higher frequency of second malignancies is observed in patients with prostate cancer. We report a case of indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed 2 years after prostate carcinoma.
CASE REPORT: A 65-year-old man with diagnosis of localized prostate adenocarcinoma was presented with fatigue 2 years after prostatectomy operation. Abdominal ultrasonography showed hepatomegaly and paraaortocaval, parailiac, and perivascular multiple lymph nodes. The complete blood count revealed anemia and thrombocytopenia. Bone marrow biopsy demonstrated small lymphocytic lymphoma.

An extremely rare case of metachronous primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP) due to a parathyroid adenoma and subsequent carcinoma with local lymphatic spread is presented herein. A 55-year-old woman was operated on for a parathyroid adenoma in the right inferior gland. Thirteen years after the first operation, she was again hospitalized for hypercalcemia and the presence of a hard mass in the right anterior neck region. Exploratory surgery and a histological examination of the resected tumor provided evidence of a parathyroid neoplasm in the right superior gland but the malignancy was equivocal.

A 63-year-old man had undergone hypopharyngectomy for hypopharyngeal carcinoma in 1985. A free radial forearm flap was used for reconstruction of the pharynx. Ten years after the surgery, a second primary squamous cell carcinoma occurred in the neopharynx. Persistent exposure to alcohol, saliva and foodstuffs was considered as a possible cause of second primary carcinoma. Long-term follow-up is indicated in patients undergoing reconstruction using cutaneous or musculocutaneous flaps.

A sacrococcygeal adenocarcinoma is reported in a male patient nearly 40 years old following resection of a histologically mature sacrococcygeal teratoma.
