We report a rare case of a retroperitoneal uterus-like mass communicating with the endocervix, which presented as abdominal pain and bloating associated with severe irregular vaginal and postcoital bleeding. Our patient did not have any structural abnormalities of the urogenital system or otherwise, which makes a müllerian defect unlikely in our case. Uterus transplantation is a novel approach in women whose uterus is absent or severely abnormal. However, it is still an experimental procedure that poses risks to both mother and baby. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate hysteroscopic metroplasty and its effect on reproductive outcome.
STUDY DESIGN: Seventy-five patients consulted for uterine septum between January 1996 to December 2000 at "La Sapienza" University in Rome were included in the study.
RESULTS: Forty patients attempted pregnancy and a total of 30 spontaneous pregnancies resulted (75% pregnancy rate). The uterine cavity was normal at hysteroscopic follow-up in 68% of cases.

A healthy 5-year-old boy presented with two palpable masses in the right hemiscrotum. An examination also showed a palpable mass in the left groin. During surgery, he was found to have right-sided biorchism and a left groin nodule attached to the left vas deferens and spermatic cord. The nodule was excised and histologic examination showed the presence of persistent Mullerian structures. A chromosome analysis showed the normal male karyotype. Both conditions have been previously reported, but this is the first report of both conditions occurring in the same patient.
