In this paper, a T wave alternans detection system based on wireless and USB communication is presented. The ECG signal is amplified in the first step. The amplifier has a gain of 2000 and the CMRR is 80dB. Then the signal is sampled with a 12-bit AD converter. At last, the sample result is transmitted to the PC via wireless communication and USB bus. In the PC, the T wave alternans are detected using the spectral method. Results show that this system has high data transmission rate and real time data processing capability, and can realize the detection of T wave alternans.

Primary hyperparathyroidism diagnosis and radioguided surgery by (99m)Tc-MIBI scintigraphy have become more generalized during recent years. The recent creation of a new portable hand-held miniature gamma camera opens new perspectives for this technique. INTRODUCTION: Current ambulatory ECG monitoring systems are limited in their ability to diagnose patients with palpitations. The aim of this prospective study was to compare a new "leadless" ambulatory monitor with a standard event monitor in the evaluation of patients with palpitations.

We treated 16 patients with acute and chronic acromioclavicular dislocations type III and V by open reduction and fixation using a Hook plate (AO). Plate removal was performed 7 months later on average (range 3 1/2 - 13). A clinical and radiological follow-up was performed after a mean time interval of 29 months (range, 11-40) from the date of plate removal. The L'Insalata scoring system was used to compare the function of the injured shoulder before operation and after removal of the hook plate. STUDY OBJECTIVES: To evaluate factors predicting the diagnostic yield of transbronchial biopsy (TBB) using endobronchial ultrasonography with a guide sheath (EBUS-GS) in small peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) </= 30 mm in mean diameter.
DESIGN: Retrospective analysis.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: One hundred fifty-five consecutive patients with 158 small PPLs underwent TBB using EBUS-GS.
