Three pairs of female conjoined twins--a xiphoomphalopagus, a pygopagus, and a thoracopagus--were encountered during the past 10 years. Surgical separation was successful in the xiphopagus, and both twins survived. Separation was also successful in the pygopagus, but only one of the twins survived; the twin that died had sustained cerebral hemorrhage before the operation. A standardized model of venous thrombosis is necessary when evaluating potential antithrombotic or thrombolytic agents in microsurgery. Epidermal Langerhans' cells (LC) were enumerated in normal human skin from various anatomical sites using a monoclonal antibody (NA1/34) to human thymocyte antigen (HTA-1) and the standard ATPase reaction on frozen sections. The same population of cells was identified with each technique. LC densities were found to be significantly higher in hair bearing skin than in skin from the palm and sole. Whereas the omphalocele develops from a malformation of the mesoderm during the embryonal period, the gastroschisis appears to be the result of an intrauterine vascular occlusion; defined as disruption. Ten patients with prune bell uropathy, including 7 neonates, were treated with extensive surgical tailoring of the upper urinary tracts using primarily the upper ureteral segment. Simultaneous transabdominal orchiopexy, particularly in the neonate, is described as a useful adjunct. Our early results in these patients justify this aggressive approach.

Five patients with breast cancer and malignant melanoma are reported. Two patients had a third primary malignancy. In 4 out of 5 patients the breast tumor was the initial tumor discovered, and in 4 out of 5 the second tumor evolved metachronously. No specific carcinogenic factor could be established. The low malignancy potential of the melanoma by pathologic criteria may explain the lack of previous reports of this association.

INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND: In March 2025, a 31-year-old female patient was admitted to Mangkang County People's Hospital in Tibet, complaining of upper abdominal pain for two days, which worsened after meals. She reported a habit of consuming raw beef. This case is unique as it highlights the diagnostic value of CT imaging in identifying taeniasis, particularly when worms are expelled post-CT examination. Previous imaging studies often lacked specific signs, with many cases only confirmed post-surgery. This case provides a valuable reference for the radiological characteristics of taeniasis.

Perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm (PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal tumor composed of histologically and immunohistochemically distinctive perivascular epithelioid cells.
