We tested and compared the use of two adjunctive hormonal agents, tamoxifen and medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), for the treatment of acute mania or hypomania. Despite attention to depression and cognitive disorders, the prevalence of other mental disorders following breast cancer chemotherapy has not been well described. BACKGROUND: Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors have been successfully used to treat peptic ulcers. Although carbonic anhydrase restriction does not inhibit Helicobacter pylori in vitro, recent studies suggest that carbonic anhydrase inhibition reduces the ability of H. pylori to survive in an acid environment as present in the stomach.
