Ewing sarcoma (ES) of the mandible is rare and can be mistaken for inflammation of dental origin. We present a 24-year old male patient which underwent radical tumour surgery and primary reconstruction with a microvascular osteoseptocutaneous free fibular flap as well as postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. BACKGROUND: Vascular invasion (VI) in a patient with pancreatic or periampullary cancers precludes surgery and indicates a poor prognosis. Published data on the accuracy of EUS in diagnosing VI is varied.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the accuracy of EUS in diagnosing VI in patients with pancreatic and periampullary cancers.
DESIGN: Data from EUS studies were pooled according to the Mantel-Haenszel and DerSimonian Laird methods.
PATIENTS: EUS studies in which VI was confirmed by surgery or angiography were selected.

INTRODUCTION: The breast cancer incidence among Singapore women has risen through the years and is now the highest in Asia. Despite efforts to promote a greater awareness of breast cancer among the public, a significant number of patients still present with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer. Our study aims to evaluate the clinical and pathological characteristics between patients presenting with locally advanced (LABC) and metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and those presenting with early breast cancer (EBC), to identify factors that predict for advanced disease.

In order to evaluate the level of cell differentiation in extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) and the relation with prognosis, the pathologic morphology of 20 EMPD cases were reviewed. We found two marked features of the invasive and metastatic Paget's cells: first, the Pagat cells were usually of signet ring shape; second, the cells formed gland-like structures. These features can be regarded as low differentiation and important risk factors for invasion and metastasis in EMPD.

To modify the bladder neck dissection during radical prostatectomy, in an effort to improve continence and diminish the incidence of anastomotic stricture, without compromising the primary surgical objective of complete cancer removal.
