BACKGROUND: 2-deoxy-2[(18)F]fluoro-D-glucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) imaging can be registered with CT images and can potentially improve neck staging sensitivity and specificity in patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer. In an open study, ten people with phobia or panic disorder who could not travel repeatedly to a therapist accessed a computer-aided exposure self-help system (FearFighter) at home on the internet with brief therapist support by telephone. AIMS: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLN) seems to represent a reliable method for early breast cancer staging, offering an alternative to complete axillary dissection.
METHODS: The identification of sentinel node(s), their localization and the predictive capacity of SLN were analysed in 42 patients who had neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer.
