A 79-year-old male patient had a huge choledocholithiasis that was difficult to remove and underwent endoscopic retrograde biliary drainage. He complained of hematemesis upon admission to our hospital. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography showed bleeding from the papilla of Vater and revealed an upper filling defect with a large stone in the common bile duct. A 30-years-old post-cesarean lady presented with a secondary post-partum hemorrhage for a week, complicated by anemia, which required blood transfusion. Subcapsular liver hematoma (SLH) is a rare complication of HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets) syndrome. We report a previously healthy 16-year-old female presenting with pre-eclampsia requiring emergent C-section, who developed immediate postoperative bleeding and abdominal distention. Abdominal computed tomography angiography (CTA) revealed a large encapsulated liver hematoma with active extravasation. The patient was successfully treated with a multidisciplinary approach with medical and surgical management.

BACKGROUND: Subclavian steal occurs due to stenosis or occlusion of the subclavian artery or innominate artery proximal to the origin of the vertebral artery. Often asymptomatic, the condition may be unmasked due to symptoms of vertebrobasilar insufficiency triggered by strenuous physical exercise involving the affected upper limb. The association of vertebrobasilar junction (VBJ) aneurysms with subclavian steal syndrome has been rarely reported. Hereby, we present a case of VBJ aneurysm associated with subclavian steal treated successfully with endovascular coiling.

Mucinous cystadenoma are rare benign mucin-producing tumours. Primary mucinous neoplasms most commonly involve ovary, pancreas or appendix. They may rupture to produce mucous ascites/pseudomyxoma peritonei. We are describing a 51-year-old man who presented to us with symptomatic gallstone disease but during preoperative ultrasound was found to have cystic lesions in spleen with free fluid in the abdomen. Splenectomy and drainage of mucin were done. Histopathology was done and a final diagnosis of primary mucinous cystadenoma of spleen with mucinous ascites was made.

The management of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in the skeletally immature patient is an area of controversy. The purpose of this survey is to inventory the current state of care for pediatric ACL injuries in the Netherlands. This survey was conveyed by e-mail among all members of the Dutch Arthroscopy Society (Nederlandse Vereniging van Arthroscopie [NVA]) and promoted on the Web site of the NVA. It was developed by the scientific committee of the NVA by a consensus meeting discussing relevant topics in pediatric ACL injuries. All members of the NVA received the survey (n = 540).

Acute subdural hemorrhage (SDH) is commonly encountered by emergency radiologists in the setting of trauma. When history or imaging evidence of trauma is absent, the differential diagnosis for SDH should be expanded.
