OBJECTIVE: To study the clinical features of sacroiliitis and differential diagnosis.
METHODS: Totally 509 patients with chief complaints of back pain and diagnosed as sacroiliitis from January 2007 to January in Chinese PLA General Hospital were enrolled. From June, 1989 to March, 1991, 24 cases were treated in our department with the Dick technique. The study population included 7 patients with fresh horacolumber spine fracture, 10 with late spinal fracture (15 of the above 17 cases had incomplete paraplegia), 3 with ankylosing spondylitis, 2 with tuberculosis, and one each with spondylolisthesis and spine tumor. IL-17 inhibitors effectively treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis but may increase the risk of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We assessed their association with IBD compared to apremilast. Utilising the TriNetX database, we analysed patients with psoriasis or ankylosing spondylitis initiating IL-17 inhibitors or apremilast. We used propensity score matching and Cox models to estimate IBD risk. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to assess the degree of fluctuation of osteitis on MRI during long-term treatment with etanercept (ETN) in patients with early axial SpA (axSpA) with active inflammation (osteitis) on whole-body MRI in the spine and/or the SI joints at baseline.

Tracheal extubation requires careful planning and preparation. We present the extubation of a patient with severe ankylosing spondylitis after cervical spine surgery. We discuss the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in this "at-risk" extubation, where our ability to oxygenate was uncertain and reintubation was predicted to be difficult.
