Axillary nodal status was analysed in 960 consecutive cases of primary invasive breast cancer operated in two Danish hospitals. After stratification according to the number of nodes removed, the rate of node positivity in each subgroup was calculated. Four patients presented with large intra-abdominal masses. Three patients were diagnosed as having hepatoblastomas of the right hepatic lobe, one of the left lobe. Initially these tumors were unresectable, and after biopsy each patient was treated with a standardized chemotherapy protocol. All tumors decreased remarkably in size and were resected successfully. Of 108 women treated for vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia between 1977 and 1984 at the Irvine Medical Center, University of California, and the Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, Women's Hospital, 48 with multifocal and/or widespread lesions underwent skinning vulvectomy and split thickness skin graft reconstruction. Fourteen variables were tested for their prognostic usefulness in 203 patients with clinical Stage I melanoma and primary tumor 0.76-169 mm thick. Only two variables, primary tumor location and level of invasion, were useful in predicting death from melanoma for these patients. Patients with primary carcinoma of the base of the tongue or direct invasion from contiguous areas were examined clinically and with ultrasound, and in some cases with computed tomography (CT), xerography, and polytomography. In all cases, multiple biopsy specimens were obtained. Utrasonography was better than the other imaging methods in delineating disease extent in the tongue itself, while CT and tomography were more useful in evaluating the retropharyngeal and lateral pharyngeal regions. It is suggested that ultrasound be used in the initial evaluation of such patients.

The clinicopathologic findings of 13 patients having extramammary Paget's disease of the vulva are discussed with emphasis on its histogenesis and biological behavior.
