BACKGROUND: Functional dyspepsia is thought to be a diagnosis made after excluding endoscopically detectable lesions by the current Rome III criteria. However, whether these "functional dyspepsia" patients were diagnosed appropriately is still controversial.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: This study evaluated the effect of Helicobacter pylori eradication on functional dyspepsia (FD), and the relationship between the changes of histological gastritis and FD symptom responses.
