PURPOSE: Brucellosis is a bacterial zoonotic disease caused by genus Brucella. The disease is often transmitted to humans by direct or indirect contact with infected livestock or from laboratory exposure. In this study two clinical isolates of Brucella melitensis were subjected to whole genome sequencing (WGS) using Ion Torrent PGM and Oxford Nanopore MinIon platform.

Recent comprehensive molecular analysis allowed the identification of unique molecular signatures in pheochromocytomas (PHEOs) and paragangliomas (PGLs). Here we summarize the main pathway clusters activated by PHEO- and PGL-susceptibility genes: pseudohypoxic, kinase, and Wnt signaling. Molecular characterization and clustering of PHEOs and PGLs may help in the application of principles of personalized medicine and in decision making for targeted therapy of these tumors.

Ochrobactrum is a ubiquitous Gram-negative microorganism, mostly found in the environment, which can cause opportunistic infections in humans. It is almost uniformly resistant to penicillins and cephalosporins through an AmpC-like β-lactamase enzyme class (OCH).
