OBJECTIVE: Pleomorphic adenomas are the most common salivary gland tumors and are typically cured with complete surgical excision. There are rare reports, however, in which these histologically benign tumors have inexplicably metastasized to distant sites. We present a case of a patient who presented, 27 years after excision of a parotid pleomorphic adenoma, with a recurrence in the parotid bed and a mediastinal metastasis.

We report a rare case of colon cancer in which a depressed-type tumor only 5 mm in diameter invaded the submucosal layer and produced intermediate lymph node metastasis. A 47-year-old male received a total colonoscopy for a depressed-type lesion with marginal elevation in the sigmoid colon. The lesion measured 5 mm in diameter. OBJECTIVES: The normal human prostate accumulates the highest levels of zinc of any soft tissue in the body. The presence of zinc in the prostate of a number of mammalian species, including rhesus monkeys and humans, has been well documented. The aims of this study were to investigate the concentrations of zinc in various disorders of the prostate and to find a correlation between them.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 80 cases were studied (20 normal, 50 benign, 10 carcinomatous). A plasma sample was taken and zinc levels were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry.

A 12-year-old boy presented to us with a diagnosis of disseminated tuberculosis which was made based on a history of prolonged fever, multiple neck swellings and radiological findings of bilateral multiple micronodular opacities. Examination showed a diffuse thyroid gland swelling. He was diagnosed to have papillary thyroid carcinoma with distant metastases to cervical lymphnode on histopathology and to lungs.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the diagnostic value of ultrasonography for adrenal metastatic carcinoma.
METHODS: In comparison with the results of CT, MRI, DSA and ECG, ultrasonic features of adrenal metastatic carcinoma were analyzed in 39 clinically confirmed cases.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Ultrasound proved to be sensitive and accurate in the diagnosis of adrenal metastatic carcinoma, which offers an important clinical diagnostic modality for this malignancy.

We report a unique case of carcinoid cardiopathy. The patient, a 59-year-old white woman with a known carcinoid tumor of the terminal ileum, presented with complete heart block and subsequently died. Because of her clinical presentation, we examined the conducting system at autopsy. The atrioventricular node was heavily infiltrated by metastatic carcinoid. We report two cases of non Hodgkin malignant lymphoma of the testis observed in two patients 36 and 32 years old. Diagnosis was made on pathological examination after orchiectomy. One patient had an involvement of the lung and Waldeyer's ring and the other presented cerebral involvement. Despite combination chemotherapy and external beam radiation therapy, the disease progression was rapid and fatal in the first patient (19 months) while the second had multiple cerebral relapses and died by disease progression 21 months after orchiectomy.
