Retinas of 142 eyes from 71 premature infants on whom autopsies had been done were studied by gross observation and by using PAS-stained whole mount, trypsin-digest, and conventional histological techniques. With these techniques, vascular pathologic condition was correlated with fluorescein angiograms in living infants with acute retrolental fibroplasia. Systolic murmurs present in 129 geriatric patients followed to post-mortem were assessed as mitral or aortic in origin by simple clinical assessment alone. Post-mortem examination contradicted clinical findings in only 2% of cases. Mitral valve pathology, mostly post-inflammatory scarring or mucoid degeneration, was present in 50% of the cases with murmurs. A rare case of congenital intestinal obstruction of hereditary nature, the so-called "pagoda" syndrome, is described. Fifty-seven dogs were subjected to hemorrhagic hypotension by a variety of protocols. Histologic pulmonary changes were studied using the light microscope. The histological appearances found in biopsies from fifty-seven patients with secondary syphilis have been correlated with the clinical morp … granulomatous, but in other respects the duration of the exanthem could not be correlated with the pathology. The differential diagnosis from pityriasis lichenoides and other inflammatory dermatoses is discussed and the value of histopathology in the diagnosis of secondary syphilis is emphasized.

Cold lymphocytotoxins have been described extensively in many situations. In the present work, this kind of antibody has been found less frequently than previously in some diseases like infectious mononucleosis, rheumatoïd arthritis, or kidney transplanted patients. These discrepancies may be due to technical considerations. In contrast, cold lymphocytotoxins, in the present work, have been frequently detected in auto-immune hemolytic anemias with cold agglutinins, and in patients having immuno-deficiencies.
