Vaccine development for COVID-19 has progressed expeditiously. To date, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the Moderna/mRNA-1273, Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2), and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen (JNJ-78436735) vaccines for use in the United States. Extraskeletal osteosarcoma is a highly aggressive malignant osteoid forming mesenchymal neoplasm arising from soft tissues which accounts for 1% of all soft tissue sarcomas. Contamination of breathing gas is a risk for all divers. Some hydrocarbon contaminants will be sensed by the diver and the dive profile aborted. On the contrary, carbon monoxide may not be recognized by the diver and catastrophic consequences can result. Reported here is the fatal case of carbon monoxide poisoning while scuba diving, an event that has rarely been reported in the medical literature. A detailed review of other published cases of CO poisoning while scuba diving is included, attempting to identify causes in common and propose methods of prevention.

A 49-year-old male with Ewing sarcoma and bone, pleural, lung and mediastinal lymph node metastasis was treated with cabozantinib after four lines of previous systemic treatments. He responded objectively and subjectively well for 8 months. In this heavily pretreated patient, the daily starting dose of 60 mg had to be reduced to 30 mg because of adverse events. INTRODUCTION: Extramedullary hematopoiesis is a complication of myeloproliferative neoplasms or of chronic hemolysis. The more frequent localizations are splenic, ganglionic or paraspinal. Rarely, extramedullary hematopoiesis is associated with solid cancer.
