Rehabilitation Management of Neck Pain-Development of a Diagnostic Framework Based on the Pain and Disability Drivers Management Model.

RATIONALE: Neck pain is a major cause of disability worldwide, and current rehabilitation strategies show limited effectiveness. Subgrouping patients by their primary pain and disability drivers can help tailor treatments. At this end, the Pain and Disability Drivers Management (PDDM) was developed and has demonstrated preliminary effectiveness in the management of low back pain. Nevertheless, the PDDM model was only validated for this population. Adapting this framework to patients with neck pain would provide a more global view of the patient's experience of pain and support a genuine biopsy

Barriers and Facilitators of Nurses' Involvement in Guideline Development and Adaptation: A Qualitative Evidence Synthesis Protocol.

INTRODUCTION: Nurses often use clinical practice guidelines to assist them in treating childhood cases. Guidelines provide an easily accessible resource that clinicians can review to expand their knowledge base and determine patient care. Those involved in the guideline development and adaptation process usually have a better understanding when it comes to making use of the guideline. It is imperative to understand how the implementers of guidelines can be involved in the guideline development and adaptation process. The use of a Qualitative Evidence Synthesis is encouraged as it is the most a

Advancing frontiers in skin offensive odor management: from innovative diagnostics to cutting-edge treatments and emerging technologies.

Skin bromhidrosis, commonly referred to as body odor, is caused by the microbial breakdown of sweat, leading to the formation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that result in unpleasant odors. While body odor is a natural consequence of sweat production, excessive or persistent odor can significantly affect quality of life, causing social stigma and psychological distress. Traditional approaches to managing body odor, such as antiperspirants and deodorants, have limitations, necessitating the development of more advanced diagnostic tools and treatments. This review aims to explore recent ad

Vaccination against cholera in crisis: Coverage and cost efficiency in Sudan (2023-2024).

BACKGROUND: Cholera remains a persistent public health challenge, particularly in resource-limited and conflict-affected settings where inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure exacerbate disease transmission. Sudan has experienced recurrent cholera outbreaks, with two major waves occurring between April 2023 and November 2024, affecting 63,112 individuals and resulting in 1377 fatalities. Given the ongoing armed conflict and humanitarian crisis, traditional cholera prevention measures are often insufficient, necessitating the rapid deployment of Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) as a

How do people with disability and complex needs experience the built environment in apartments designed for people with disability?

INTRODUCTION: Despite evidence supporting the benefits of individualised disability housing, the extent to which the built environment in these housing models meets the needs of tenants with disability and complex needs remains unclear. One form of individualised housing includes apartments designed for people with disability peppered throughout larger apartment complexes. In this study, we aimed to explore the experience of the built environment for people living in these apartments. METHODS: Thirteen adults with disabilities and complex needs (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome = 3; cerebral palsy = 1;

Parents' perspectives on using a Family Medication Safety Plan designed to promote appropriate opioid prescription practices with adolescents.

BACKGROUND: Research has underscored the vulnerability of adolescents to opioid misuse, creating a call to action for researchers and practitioners to identify ways to reduce the youths' risk of opioid misuse. Although strategies have previously been proposed, few studies have targeted and designed interventions for adolescents and their families. The Family Medication Safety Plan (FMSP) was developed to provide families with a tool to encourage early education and conversation and promote safe use of prescription opioid medications in their homes. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to understand p

Implementation factors of non-communicable disease policies and programmes for children and youth in low-income and middle-income countries: a systematic review.

INTRODUCTION: Despite declared life-course principles in non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention and management, worldwide focus has been on older rather than younger populations. However, the burden from childhood NCDs has mounted; particularly in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). There is limited knowledge regarding the implementation of paediatric NCD policies and programmes in LMICs, despite their disproportionate burden of morbidity and mortality. We aimed to understand the barriers to and facilitators of paediatric NCD policy and programme implementation in LMICs. METHOD

Acceptability and feasibility of tests for infection, serological testing, and photography to define need for interventions against trachoma.

BACKGROUND: Trachoma causes blindness due to repeated conjunctival infection by Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct). Transmission intensity is estimated, for programmatic decision-making, by prevalence of the clinical sign trachomatous inflammation-follicular (TF) in children aged 1-9 years. Research into complementary indicators to field-graded TF includes work on conjunctival photography, tests for ocular Ct infection, and serology. The perceived acceptability and feasibility of these indicators among a variety of stakeholders is unknown. METHODOLOGY: Focus group discussions (FGDs) with community me

Adapting a mobile app to support patients with anorexia nervosa following post-acute care: perspectives from eating disorder treatment center stakeholders.

INTRODUCTION: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a harmful, life-threatening illness. Patients with severe AN often receive acute treatment but, upon discharge, experience high relapse rates. Evidence-based, outpatient treatment following acute care is critical to preventing relapse; however, numerous barriers (e.g., location, financial limitations, low availability of providers) preclude individuals from accessing treatment. mHealth technologies may help to address these barriers, but research on such digital approaches for those with AN is limited. Further, such technologies should be developed with a
