Composite tissue allotransplantion has been the latest addition to reconstructive plastic surgery of limbs and faces. These techniques have opened up a new paradigm in reconstruction. Management of an impacted canine often leads to an inadequate width of attached gingiva, which can be a possible risk for future gingival recession and associated complications. Uncovering a labially impacted maxillary canine can be performed by gingivectomy, apically positioned flap surgery, or a closed eruption technique. Choosing the right technique is sometimes confusing. The authors present a case that was managed by apically positioned flap surgery followed by orthodontic treatment.

Incontinentia pigmenti (IP) or Bloch-Sulzberger syndrome is a rare X-linked dominant genodermatosis related to the NF kappa B essential modulator (NEMO) gene with approximately 800 cases reported worldwide. It usually occurs in females characterized by cutaneous, skeletal, neurological, ocular and dental abnormalities as well as an increased risk of childhood malignancies. An eruption disturbance of a central maxillary incisor can be caused by the intrusion of a deciduous incisor. Depending on the age of the individual when trauma occurred, this may lead to a so-called dilaceration. Surgical exposure and ligation if needed, followed by orthodontic extrusion, will generally be successful. In one case, the central upper incisor appeared to be dislodged and exposure, ligation and orthodontic extrusion resulted in an excellent aesthetic result.

A rare case of regression of a lesion resembling pyogenic granuloma after endodontic treatment of a maxillary lateral incisor in a 16-year-old female patient is reported.
