BACKGROUND: Hereditary breast cancer accounts for approximately 10% of all breast cancer cases, with germline BRCA2 pathogenic variants (PVs) being the most prevalent genetic alteration. We assessed the association between dolutegravir (DTG)-based antiretroviral therapy and kidney abnormalities among young people living with HIV in Kampala, Uganda. Cross-sectional albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR), proteinuria, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were measured. Among 483 participants, the mean serum creatinine was higher (0.68 vs. 0.59) and creatinine-based eGFR lower (118.8 vs. 113.9), among those on TDF/DTG. Cystatin C-based eGFR, prevalences of elevated ACR (9.6% vs. 13.0%), proteinuria (28.3% vs. 30.2%), and eGFR < 90 ml/min/1.73 m² (40.1% vs. 46.9%) were similar.

Cisplatin-based combination chemotherapy is a cornerstone of perioperative and adjuvant therapies for gastric cancer (GC). However, cisplatin resistance resulting from repeated treatment limits its clinical application. PFKFB3 (6-phosphofructo-2-kinase), an isoenzyme of the PFKFB family, functions as a vital regulator of glycolysis and is involved in multiple cancer-related processes, including carcinogenesis, proliferation, metastasis, and drug resistance. Neurofibromin/NF1 is a RAS (rat sarcoma virus) GTPase-activating protein and estrogen receptor (ER) transcriptional corepressor. BACKGROUND: The S147G mutation is associated with high-level resistance to the integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) elvitegravir.
