We previously showed that formation of pulmonary granulomas in mice in response to a mycobacterial glycolipid, trehalose 6,6'-dimycolate (TDM) is due to the action of TNF-α and not of IFN-γ. We retrospectively investigated the incidence of infusion reactions following cetuximab chemotherapy in 93 patients with colorectal cancer. Patients received chemotherapy treatment from September 2008 to February 2010 at Aichi Cancer Center Hospital. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of Milkvetch Injection (MI) on cardiac function and hemodynamics in children with tetralogy of Fallot after radical operation.
METHODS: Thirty-two children with tetralogy of Fallot were divided into two groups, the 20 patients in the control group treated with conventional treatment and the 12 patients in the treated group treated with 15 ml of MI every 12 hrs for 7 days. We have investigated opioid mechanisms concerning regulation of urine production in the hypothalamic supraoptic nucleus (SON). In this study, the effect of [D-Ala2, N-Me-Phe4, Gly5-ol]-enkephalin (DAMGO), a potent selective mu-opioid agonist, microinjected into the SON of anesthetized hydrated rats, on the urine outflow rate was examined. DAMGO caused a dose-dependent decrease in the urine outflow rate with no significant changes in blood pressure nor heart rate. The effect of the carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, acetazolamide, on the retinal circulation was studied in 10 healthy volunteers. Acetazolamide was administered intravenously at a dose of 500 mg.
