Thirty one cases of patients affected by skull lesions are reported: 25 fractures of the frontal sinus, two fractures of ethmoidal bone, two fractures of the floor of the anterior cranial fossa, one fracture of the petrous bone, one opening of the mastoid cells. Five of these patients presented a cerebrospinal fluid fistula. All the patients were surgically treated with a mixture of autogenous sawdust and butyl-2-cyanoacrylate with favorable results in thirty cases. It was necessary to repeat the treatment only in one case and the patient recovered completely.

Herein is presented a new technique to construct an artificial spermatocele, using monofilament knitted polypropylene wrapped with tunica vaginalis and anastomosed end-to-end to the head or the body of the epididymis. The material was tested in 10 dogs. It did not harm the spermatozoa, the function of the reservoir or the tolerance of the surrounding tissues. Therefore, the material was used in a patient with bilateral congenital absence of the vasa deferentia, while wife became pregnant following cervical insemination. The spermatocele is still functional after 15 months.

Laryngeal stenosis can present with recurrent lower respiratory tract infections, hoarseness, stridor or decreased exercise tolerance. Asphyxia and death may follow. One accepted method of treatment is to perform a tracheostomy, dilate the stricture and insert an obturator for 6 to 9 mo. After inserting an oesophageal prosthesis complications could be demonstrated in 53 cases (65%) from a total of 81 autopsies. Age distribution, tumour localisation and its relation to the development of local complications are analysed. Notwithstanding the high incidence of complications endoprostheses should be given preference to gastric fistulae.

Twenty-three patients had intraocular lens surgery performed by eight separate ophthalmology residents over an eighteen month period of time.
