To report a case of corneal rupture due to blunt trauma occurring 20 years after radial keratotomy (RK) and transverse keratotomy. A 57-year-old woman sustained direct blunt trauma to her right eye. Ocular examination revealed a ruptured globe involving two of the eight RK incisions connected together across the visual axis with iris incarceration in the wound. We report a 69-year-old Caucasian male who presented with irreversible ischemia to the left foot. CT-scan showed, besides occlusion of both superficial femoral arteries, a chronic contained rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. The aneurysm was excluded with a stent graft placed through a femoral approach in a semi-urgent procedure. CT-scans at 1, 3 and 6 months demonstrated continued exclusion of the aneurysm. A 32-year-old man was urgently referred to our hospital with severe tricuspid insufficiency following a car accident. The completely flail anterior leaflet, due to the rupture of the papillary muscles, was revealed by a two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. PURPOSE: We present a series of patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) from ruptured intracranial aneurysms who were treated with endovascular embolization by detachable coils.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: There were 108 patients with SAH treated with endovascular coiling. The efficacy of the endovascular coiling was estimated by initial postembolization angiography and by digital subtraction angiography after 6 months, using the following categories: complete occlusion of an aneurysm (98%-100%), near-complete occlusion (90%-98%), and incomplete occlusion (<90%).

Lower abdominal pain of acute onset in young women with a negative pregnancy test is a frequent reason for referral to the general surgical team and the differential diagnoses include acute appendicitis, complicated ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease. Intestinal and mesenteric cystic disease is a rare entity and less than half of cases present acutely. We present a case of a 25-year-old woman who underwent diagnostic laparoscopy for acute lower abdominal pain and was diagnosed with a ruptured, infected mesenteric cyst.

Pregnancy in the rudimentary horn is a very rare condition. In these cases, rupture of the rudimentary horn in the second trimester with fetal death and catastrophic intraperitoneal hemorrhage is the commonly reported outcome. Silent rupture of the rudimentary horn and continuation of pregnancy as a secondary abdominal pregnancy is the most unusual outcome of this rare condition. We report such a case with a good maternal and neonatal outcome. The case is being reported for its rarity.

This retrospective study evaluated the incidence of meniscal injury in cats with cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) ruptures. Medical records for cats diagnosed with CCL ruptures treated by a lateral fabellotibial suture (LFS) were reviewed for signalment, history, physical examination and surgical findings.
