INTRODUCTION: Pancreatic cancer (PC) has an insidious onset, limited treatment, and a poor prognosis. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a crucial role as a bridge for tumor microenvironment (TME)communication in tumorigenesis and development, especially EV proteins reflect the specificity of tumors. EVs serve as readily available biomarkers, and characterization of their protein profiles is expected to be a noninvasive molecular marker to improve the early diagnosis of Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) as well as potential therapeutic targets.

Melasma is a chronic skin disorder characterized by hyperpigmentation, predominantly affecting women with darker skin types, including those of African descent. We addressed the underrepresentation of non-European populations in genome-wide association studies (GWASs) by building HiGenome, a large-scale genetic resource for the Taiwanese Han population. Using a custom genotyping array, we integrated deidentified electronic medical records (2003 to 2021) with genomic data to enable GWASs, phenome-wide association studies, and polygenic risk score (PRS) analysis. Loneliness is a pressing global health crisis. A combination of close and not close ties (i.e., weak ties) is optimal to combat loneliness and improve psychological and physical health. OBJECTIVE: This study examines childhood and clinical factors theorized to impact therapeutic alliance development over the course of psychotherapy.
METHOD: Raters assessed the therapeutic alliance of 212 client-therapist dyads, participating in two randomized controlled trials of schema therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy for binge eating or major depression, at three time points. Linear mixed models were used to characterize therapeutic alliance development over time and assess the influence of childhood trauma, perceived parental bonding, diagnosis and therapy type on scores.
