We report on a case of a pure urogenital sinus anomaly presented with bladder distention. A seven-day-old girl with an abdominal distension was referred to the Division of Urology, Hakodate Central Hospital, Hakodate, Japan. In a 14-year-old boy with bladder augmentation, Mitrofanoff appendicovesicostomy, Malone antegrade enema stoma, and bladder neck reconstruction, urinary continence was restored by injection of Teflon with a Veress needle and the aid of a 2-mm laparoscopic port. The method has since been used for nine treatments in six children and has been successful in all.

In the past 6 years TIP urethroplasty has become a preferred technique for distal hypospadias repair, and has also been used for proximal lesions and reoperations. In this article technical aspects of the procedure are described and published outcomes reviewed. TIP hypospadias repair has gained widespread acceptance because of its versatility, low complication rate and reliable creation of a vertically-oriented meatus.

We report a new method of repair of exstrophy-epispadias complex (EEC) at a second stage by using flaps from the skin between the penis and scrotum (the clitoris and labia majora in females) used in seven patients. The non-pigmented skin between the penis and scrotum in males or a band of skin between the clitoris and labia majora in female is mobilized in two flaps, which are rotated superiorly. Bladder neck reconstruction in children is a challenging undertaking. Goals must be established for each patient, either continence or dryness. Knowledge of the various types of bladder neck reconstructive procedures and what they are designed to do is important when considering bladder neck reconstruction.
