Chromosomes of 52 cases of mouse myeloid leukemia were examined. There were 5 myeloblastic leukemias, 22 granulocytic leukemias, 17 myelomonocytic leukemias, and 8 monocytic leukemias. Fifty cases were radiation induced and the other 2 were nonirradiated. Each case had leukemic cells with 1 to 10 marker chromosomes. Partially deleted No. 2 chromosomes appeared in 49 cases, including 2 nonirradiated cases. Chronic non-bacterial prostatitis is a difficult condition to diagnose accurately either by symptoms and signs or by investigations. Four groups of patients were assessed for the number of leucocytes and the presence of pathogens in expressed prostatic secretions before and after treatment with co-trimoxazole two tablets twice daily for three months. Indoprofen, a new-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, binds to human serum albumin in an endothermic reaction at low degrees of saturation and with an exothermic reaction at higher drug to protein ratios. Although indoprofen appears to bind to the same primary site as diazepam, dialysis studies show an increased binding of both drugs in the presence of the other. This novel observation is probably due to the effect of the drugs on the N leads to B conformational change of human serum albumin.

Six patients with acute trichinellosis were studied. Three patients were treated with mebendazole and the other three with thiabendazole. Both drugs were given at a daily dose of 50 mg per kg body weight for seven consecutive days. No substantial differences were evident in the efficacy of the two drugs when symptoms, clinical findings, and laboratory data were followed for three months. We used wide-field specular microscopy to examine 60 eyes with clinically evident corneal epithelial abnormalities in vivo. The progression of epithelial edema from early basal edema to later bullous changes and eventual subepithelial fibrovascular ingrowth was observed in 35 eyes. Three eyes with filamentary keratitis displayed a protruding mucoid filament or actual mucus incorporation into the epithelium with surrounding distortion of superficial cells. Impressed with the number of patients whose spells of transient global amnesia were triggered by special circumstances, I have reviewed 78 such cases. Precipitating events were reported in 26 of 85 spells: eight occurred during highly emotional experiences; seven, during sexual intercourse; six, while the patient was in pain; two, while a trigeminal ganglion was being stimulated; and three, during a dip in the cold Atlantic Ocean. A series of 238 patients with laryngeal paralysis seen during a six-year period (1976-1982) were studied with serial 16-mm motion picture filmstrips. There were 39 cases in which no etiological disease process could be found responsible for the paralysis; these were called "idiopathic." The purpose of this study was to assess the reliability of the angiocardiographic diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse by measuring agreement between observers using defined diagnostic criteria. Unusual mechanisms of spontaneous termination of atrioventricular (A-V) nodal reentrant tachycardia were observed in two patients during programmed electrical stimulation of the heart. In both patients the mechanism of termination was based on the use of another reentrant pathway than the use used during tachycardia. This pathway was located extranodally in one patient and intranodally in the other. The observations illustrate some of the complexities of reentry in the human heart and how they can play a role in spontaneous termination of A-V nodal tachycardia.
