OBJECTIVE: To assess the effectiveness of an educational program in visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) for cervical cancer screening among healthcare providers in 2 low-resource countries.
METHODS: A cohort of multidisciplinary healthcare workers in Uganda and El Salvador were recruited to the study. A pretest was administered before the intervention of a 5-day educational program on VIA. Orbital fractures in children are uncommon. The pattern of orbital fractures changes as children age. Although the management of pediatric orbital fractures is evolving, a thorough clinical assessment with computed tomographic scan imaging is essential. Dizziness is a rare complaint among children. In this article, the authors present the embryology and development of the vestibular system, and offer a rational approach to taking a careful history and ordering and interpreting appropriate vestibular and balance testing in children. A differential diagnosis is presented, so that the likely cause of the balance disorder can be elucidated even in the most complex pediatric patients.

Tooth agenesis is the most common dental anomaly. The aim of this retrospective study was to identify common patterns of tooth agenesis in a sample of 92 patients (55 females and 37 males; mean age 27.7 years) with non-syndromic severe hypodontia. This report presents an adolescent wakeboarder with persistent pain after conservative treatment of a Salter Harris type II distal fibular fracture. On physical examination the pain was localised over the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament. OBJECTIVES: The reproducibility of clinical tests for skin extensibility and consistency, essential for differentiating between types of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and benign joint hypermobility syndrome (BJHS), is unknown.
