PURPOSE OF REVIEW: In chronic pulmonary sarcoidosis, the transition from the inflammatory to the fibrotic stage of the lungs occurs in about 10-20% of cases, eventually causing end-stage fibrotic disease. To date, pathogenetic mechanisms and clinical management remain challenging; thus, we highlight the recent evidence in pulmonary fibrotic processes, clinical signs for an early detection and the potential role of the current investigated antifibrotic agents and promising targeted therapies.

BACKGROUND: Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS) is an autosomal-recessive chromosome instability disorder characterized by, among others, hypersensitivity to X-irradiation and an exceptionally high risk for lymphoid malignancy. Ribavirin is currently the standard of care for treating Lassa fever. However, the human clinical trial data supporting its use suffer from several serious flaws that render the results and conclusions unreliable. We performed a systematic review of available pre-clinical data and human pharmacokinetic data on ribavirin in Lassa. BACKGROUND: Mental health problems (MHP) in children and adolescents (CA) are common. This longitudinal study analyzed the prevalence, course, and persistence of MHP over 10 years from childhood into adolescence based on a sample from the Future Family project (N = 230).

Recovery from homelessness for women is often a long, complex and highly individualised journey. This study investigated women's experiences of exiting homelessness and examined the factors that influenced recovery. The qualitative interpretive study involved auto-driven photo elicitation and in-depth interviews with 11 women who had previously been homeless.
