The treatment of cardiogenic shock in patients with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is challenging because it depends on the mechanisms leading to the haemodynamic instability. We report the case of a 70-year-old woman admitted for TTS complicated by cardiogenic shock. Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) have become an increasingly beneficial option for patients with heart failure, especially in light of the insufficient availability of donor hearts. LVADs have been used effectively in end-stage heart failure as a bridge to heart transplantation, as destination therapy for those ineligible for transplantation, or as a bridge to myocardial recovery. A 10-year-old boy presented with spontaneous bruising and was found to have extreme thrombocytosis without neutrophilia/shift to immaturity, basophilia or eosinophilia. While the peripheral blood and bone marrow findings initially suggested essential thrombocythemia, BCR-ABL1 translocation was detected and chronic myeloid leukemia, chronic phase, was diagnosed. Bridging therapy (BT) prior to brexucabtagene autoleucel (brexu-cel) in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is supported by limited evidence.
