Delayed presentation of patients with anorectal malformation is not uncommon, especially in developing countries. However, presentation beyond teenage years is not commonplace. We describe a case of a 28-year-old woman who presented for treatment due to marital issues.

PURPOSE: Small bowel atresia (SBA) affects approximately 1 in 1,500-4,500 neonates and represents one of the most common congenital causes of intestinal obstruction. Management of the characteristically dilated proximal bowel segment, whether by tapering enteroplasty (TAP) or primary anastomosis without caliber reduction (non-TAP), has remained controversial for five decades in the absence of randomized evidence. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to systematically synthesize comparative evidence on postoperative outcomes following TAP versus non-TAP in neonatal SBA.

INTRODUCTION: Performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in duodenal switch (DS) patients is challenging given their surgically altered anatomy. There have been very few reported cases of trans enteric rendezvous ERCP to relieve biliary obstruction in DS patients. BACKGROUND: Aim of study is to report our preliminary experience with magnetic anastomosis (magnamosis) treating long-gap esophageal atresia (LGEA), the most challenging condition of esophageal atresia continuum. Magnamosis has been reported in 20 patients worldwide as an innovative and marginally invasive option.
METHODS: Prospective evaluation of all LGEA patients treated with magnamosis was performed (study registration number: 2535/2021). Main outcomes considered were demographic and surgical features, postoperative complications and feeding within 6-month of follow-up.
