Health Technology Readiness Profiles Among Danish Individuals With Type 2 Diabetes: Cross-Sectional Study.

BACKGROUND: Information technologies (IT) are increasingly implemented in type 2 diabetes (T2D) treatment as a resource for remotely supported health care. However, possible pitfalls of introducing IT in health care are generally overlooked. Specifically, the effectiveness of IT to improve health care may depend on the user's readiness for health technology. OBJECTIVE: We aim to investigate readiness for health technology in relation to mental well-being, sociodemographic, and disease-related characteristics among individuals with T2D. METHODS: Individuals with T2D (aged ≥18 years) who had b

Holographic elysium of a 4D ophthalmic anatomical and pathological metaverse with extended reality/mixed reality.

Extended reality is one of the leading cutting-edge technologies, which has not yet fully set foot into the field of ophthalmology. The use of extended reality technology especially in ophthalmic education and counseling will revolutionize the face of teaching and counseling on a whole new level. We have used this novel technology and have created a holographic museum of various anatomical structures such as the eyeball, cerebral venous system, cerebral arterial system, cranial nerves, and various parts of the brain in fine detail. These four-dimensional (4D) ophthalmic holograms created by us

When Assessment Theory Meets Generative AI: Reimagining SBA Design in Medical Education.

Current evaluations of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in item-writing within medical education often concentrate on isolated dimensions such as validity or reliability, overlooking the broader theoretical foundations that underpin a trustworthy assessment design. This narrow emphasis risks oversimplifying GenAI's role and obscuring how its adoption reshapes the relationship between quality, efficiency, and educational value. To address this complexity, this paper presents the Co-Created SBA Design (CCSD) framework, which reconceptualises assessment theory for the GenAI era through

Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries: A Urogynecologic Perspective on Detection and Diagnosis.

Obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIs) remain a major cause of postpartum morbidity and long-term anal incontinence. Despite advances in obstetric care, many injuries remain undiagnosed due to the limited sensitivity of digital rectal examination (DRE) and lack of imaging modalities in delivery settings. This special contribution explores the clinical, educational, and technological opportunities to improve early diagnosis, with a focus on integrating structured DRE scoring systems and emerging technologies such as impedance spectroscopy. We advocate for a shift from selective to routine po

A comparison of costs of two forms of educator professional development in Wyoming: Traditional conference vs. project ECHO.

Educator professional development (PD) is essential for improving student outcomes (Guskey, 1986, 2002). However, logistical challenges with traditional in-person conferences can detract from the reach of educator PD (Corcoran, 1995; Johnston, 1994; Shaffer & McNinch, 1997; Stephens, 1991). Project ECHO is a model of PD that utilizes videoconferencing technology to provide training to educators in rural or underserved areas through didactic presentations and case-based learning (Arora et al., 2007; Root-Elledge et al., 2018) while eliminating some of the challenges faced by traditional confere

The fertility willingness and acceptability of preimplantation genetic testing in Chinese patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.

BACKGROUND: With the development and progression of genetic technology, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) has made it possible to block the inheritance of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) as early as possible. However, we need to know the patients' fertility intentions and their acceptance of PGT. METHODS: A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data on the basic demographic data, quality of life, social support, fertility willingness, and level of understanding of genetic testing for blocking the inheritance of ADPKD among patients aged 18-45 years in seven ho

Nomophobia: impact of cell phone use and time to rest among teacher students.

Nomophobia is one of the modern pathologies that has been born as a consequence of the impact that portable technologies have had on society and the dependence generated among citizens, especially towards smartphones. This phobia manifests itself and is intensified by the loss of immediate access to information, to the network of contacts, as well as by the impossibility of contacting or being contacted by other people. All this ends up interfering with the development of the person's daily life (physical, physiological, psychological, social problems, among others). Although the research is i
