BACKGROUND: Andexanet alfa, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved antidote for apixaban and rivaroxaban, is used to manage life-threatening or uncontrolled bleeding. In patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), preoperative exposure to andexanet can cause severe heparin resistance, necessitating effective mitigation strategies.
