The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term effects of lithium treatment on neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, inflammation, and neural stem/progenitor cell (NSPC) proliferation and survival. Nine-day-old male rats were subjected to unilateral hypoxia-ischemia (HI) and 2 mmol/kg lithium chloride was injected intraperitoneally immediately after the insult. The proteome of cauda epididymal fluid (CEF) from Holstein bulls was defined. OBJECTIVE: It has been shown that galectin-3 (Gal-3) promotes angiogenesis and new vessel formation. Serum Gal-3 is a risk factor for vascular complications in type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study is to compare Gal-3 levels with a range of biochemical parameters.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tb) employs diverse virulence factors to evade immune defenses and persist intracellularly.
