BACKGROUND: Aspirin use by diabetic patients, both as secondary and tertiary prevention, significantly reduces cardiovascular events. The Israeli Diabetes Association guidelines, published in 2005, recommend that all diabetic patients, at increased risk for cardiovascular events, take aspirin.
