Inadvertent IVC diversion into left atrium is a rare morbidity following ASD repair. Reported risk factors included a large secundum, or low-lying ASD, or inferior sinus venosus defect, and anomalous pulmonary connection into the RA. Thirteen patients with gallbladder disease underwent power Doppler ultrasound (PDUS) before and after microbubble contrast agent injection. Lesion and liver bed vascularity was evaluated. Pathological diagnoses in nine patients were two acute cholecystitis, four chronic inflammation, one adenoma and two adenocarcinoma. We present a gas-water interfacial carboxylation of phenol into salicylic acid under ambient conditions, bypassing the high temperature and pressure required by the conventional Kolbe-Schmitt reaction.
