In this study, we report a case of two palatal root canals in a maxillary second molar that was endodontically treated. The possibility of two palatal root canals in maxillary second molars is quite small; however, it must be taken into account in clinical and radiographic evaluation during endodontic treatment. Often, their presence is noticed only after a canal treatment due to continuing post-operative discomfort.

In this paper, the current knowledge about Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is presented. MIH is defined as hypomineralization of systemic origin of one to four permanent first molars frequently associated with affected incisors and these molars are related to major clinical problems in severe cases. Although molecular studies have shown that more than 90% of partial moles are secondary to diandric triploidy, there are some rare cases with tetraploidy or unspecified aneuploidies. We diagnosed 3 cases of partial mole presentation during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy with multiple fetal abnormalities. In all 3 cases, cytogenetic studies showed trisomy 13. We present the cases and discuss the clinical and pathological aspects of the conditions presented as partial moles.

A case is presented in which a previous partial root canal treatment on a mandibular molar developed internal resorption of the distal canal. The case was followed at the University of Oklahoma student clinic and endodontic treatment completed in the mesial canals, with calcium hydroxide placed in the distal canal for 10 months due to a pre-existing perforating defect of the root surface. Endodontics was then completed. A 17-month follow-up film showed osseous repair apically and also adjacent to the distal root surface where a slight overextension of filling material was evident.

A rare finding of unilateral heterotopia of a mandibular third molar was most probably caused by primary and total dislocation of the tooth base. A patient developed an acute apical abscess on a mandibular first molar with an intact occlusal sealant. Radiographs reveal no typical patterns of decay on occlusal or proximal surfaces. An unusual lesion within dentin and an apparent extension from it to the external tooth surface are visible on films at the time of onset of symptoms as well as prior to eruption. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the incidence of accessory canals in the furcation region of human primary second molars. Forty freshly extracted teeth were radectomized and furcations were separated. The severed pulp chamber floors were decalcified and dehydrated. The effect on distal molar occlusion following mandibular orthognathic surgery is highlighted. Two cases are presented in which at the completion of orthodontic/surgical treatment a stable molar occlusion was re-established by adjunctive restorative treatment. The clinical problem highlighted, illustrates the importance of restorative support for patients with residual post-orthodontic and post-surgical occlusal problems.
