The purpose of this review is to discuss and illustrate the spectrum of appearances of extranodal lymphoma in the thorax, including the lungs, pleura, heart, thymus, chest wall, thoracic spine, and breast, using current cross-sectional imaging techniques, such as multidetector computed tomography, positron-emission tomography/computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and sonography. We report on a patient who had a pseudoaneurysm arising from the left uterine artery after surgical excision of deep endometriosis. The diagnosis was based on contrast-enhanced multidetector computed tomography angiography. Transfemoral selective catheterization and embolization of the left uterine artery determined a quick improvement of the symptoms.

Pericardial cystic lymphangioma is a developmental malformation of the lymphatic system. We report a case of cystic pericardial lymphangioma in the anterior mediastinum in a 1-year-old male child. The lesion was diagnosed with multidetector computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Histopathological examination showed features of cystic lymphangioma.

We report three cases of branchial cleft anomalies demonstrated by multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) fistulography. Multiplanar reformatted images using MDCT were excellent in delineating the whole fistulous tract and its surrounding structures. MDCT fistulography was very helpful in the diagnosis and surgical planning for sinus and fistula of branchial cleft anomalies.

Anomalous unilateral single pulmonary vein is an extremely rare anomaly of the pulmonary venous system. It is often confused with other pulmonary abnormalities such as hypogenetic lung (scimitar) syndrome, pulmonary varices, pulmonary nodules, and arteriovenous malformations. We present imaging findings including multidetector computerized tomography in a case of anomalous unilateral single pulmonary vein mimicking pulmonary nodules on high-resolution computed tomography of the lungs and scimitar syndrome on chest radiograph in an asthmatic girl.

This is a case of a 59-year-old man presenting with myopericarditis. Over a 2-week period, he developed progressive symptoms and worsening pericardial effusion, leading to cardiac tamponade. Pericardiocentesis revealed hemopericardium, and multidetector computed tomography angiography showed left ventricular free wall rupture. The patient collapsed abruptly, and autopsy confirmed the findings.

Coronary artery aneurysm or ectasia is an uncommon clinical problem in the pediatric population. When found, it is usually associated with the sequelae of Kawasaki disease. The objective of this study is to analyze the accuracy of computed tomography in detecting malignant thyroid cartilage invasion. In a retrospective chart review, 120 patients with carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx underwent computed tomography before total laryngectomy. These data were compared with the histological specimens. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) scan had a positive predictive value (PPV) of 76 % and a negative predictive value (NPV) of 69 %.
