Six physiological parameters of cardio-vascular system of rabbits and ultrastructure of cardiomyocytes were investigated during two planetary geomagnetic storms. At the initial and main phase of the storm the normal circadian structure in each cardiovascular parameter was lost. This is a review of work dealing with the effect of pressure overload and thryotoxic hypertrophy of rabbit hearts on the production of total activity related (TA) and initial (I) heats during isometric contraction. In healthy cats sedated with a combination of ketamine hydrochloride and acepromazine, the reproducibility of sequential echocardiographic examinations was studied. Clinical and echocardiographic studies in 25 chronic coronary patients with atrial fibrillation paroxysms following intravenous administration of 0.61-3.8 mg/kg Rhythmilen or its single oral dose (1.25-2.5 mg/kg), as well as during prolonged treatment with 400-600 mg Rhythmilen daily, demonstrated that their myocardial contractility parameters were reduced in the absence of an attack. In 10 patients with mitral stenosis, catheterization of the left ventricle and the left atrium has revealed a considerable increase in dp/dt at the moment of closure of the mitral valve in comparison with 10 healthy controls.
