Treatment for Hodgkin (HL) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) has changed dramatically in the last fifty years. While there are increasing numbers of long-term survivors, there has been increasing recognition of the long-term toxicities of treatments, particularly therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia (t-MDS/AML). The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of watchful waiting in the treatment of metachronous cystadenolymphomas, taking the experience of our department into consideration. All patients suspected of having a metachronous cystadenolymphoma, and who had a minimum follow-up time of 12 months, were studied (n = 26). OBJECTIVE: To compare the incidence rates of gastric cancer among cancer survivors with those in the general population, and estimate the probability of a gastric second primary cancer being diagnosed 10 years after any other first primary cancer.
METHOD: A cohort of first primary cancers (other than gastric) diagnosed in Northern Portugal between 2000 and 2006 (n=64,648) was followed until 31/12/2012 for gastric second primary cancers. Incidence rates, standardized incidence ratios and the cumulative incidence of gastric second primary cancers were calculated.

We present a case of a 14-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma in 2014. She was managed with chemotherapy and remained in remission for 3 years. On her surveillance imaging in 2017, a left-sided renal neoplastic mass was incidentally discovered. The reasons for the high risk of contralateral breast cancer are not understood, although polygenic mechanisms have been suggested to be involved. The nationwide Swedish Family-Cancer Database was used to examine the interaction of the risks for contralateral and familial cancer. Relative risks were separately determined for contralateral and familial breast cancers, and these were tested for additive and multiplicative interactions.
