This study examines the types of benefits and drawbacks of a sample of daughter and daughter-in-law caregivers (CG) of people with dementia and explores the predictors associated with the identified benefits and drawbacks. BACKGROUND: Studies on the precise causes and comorbidities seen with lichen planopilaris (LPP) are limited.
OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine the prevalence of thyroid diseases in patients with LPP.
METHODS: Medical records of 166 patients with LPP and 81 age- and gender-matched control subjects seen in the Department of Dermatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio between 2000 and 2013 were reviewed.

Spatial and temporal trends in visibility are examined at a national level. It is shown that visibility is impaired in all antional parks approximately 90% of the time, and that eastern visibilities are about 10 times lower than western visibilities. Seven consecutive patients with total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage were operated at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and long-term follow-up is reported on their rhythm status. The patients were generally under 3 months of age at operation. All patients are alive at the present time. The median length of follow-up is 4 years. We performed a mass screening program from January 24, 1988, to February 19, 1988, with intensive media promotion, including 121 minutes of televised air time. One hundred closed head injuries associated with facial fractures treated over a 78-month period at a level I trauma center in Northeast Ohio were reviewed. The incidence of closed head injury in patients with facial fractures was 17.5%. The surgical management of carotid body tumors requires identification and preservation of neural and vascular structures without compromising resection of the neoplasm. Between Jan 1, 1981, and Aug 31, 1983, 1,323 Ohio State University Hospital employees were screened for hepatitis B. Residents of an institution for the developmentally disabled in northwest Ohio receiving anticonvulsant therapy for six months or more with phenobarbital or phenytoin or both were studied for the prevalence of hypocalcemia and elevated alkaline phosphatase level. Fifty-six residents were identified. Sixteen (29 percent) were hypocalcemic. Fifteen (27 percent) had elevated serum alkaline phosphatase levels. Twenty-three patients were treated with radon therapy for choroidal melanoma at the Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus, between 1968 and 1976. We present an 18-year experience, including follow-up of at least eight years, in all those receiving therapy. Three patients (13%) died of metastatic disease.
