BACKGROUND: Halitosis is a relatively inhomogeneous pathology with an extremely high prevalence in the population. Potential risk factors for bad breath include bacterial decomposition of organic material as well as numerous general and systemic diseases. The aim of the present study was to analyze whether certain subgroups of oral and maxillofacial surgery patients have a higher risk of halitosis. Further the impact of halitosis on the patient's quality of life was ascertained.

Horses and donkeys belong to the genus Equus, but important differences exist between the species, many of which affect their management and welfare. This study compared skull morphology between horses and donkeys. BACKGROUND: Tinnitus is a phenomenon that affects approximately 15% of the adult population. A minority of patients will experience chronic bothersome tinnitus that has a detrimental effect on their quality of life. Management of such tinnitus is challenging for healthcare practitioners. Primary care services are the first point at which patients seek expert medical advice about their condition and General Practitioners (GPs) must be equipped with the knowledge to appropriately triage and guide patients.

Thermal delousing is a new method for removing sea lice from farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L). We investigated thermally-related tissue injuries in Atlantic salmon in a pilot laboratory trial to describe the acute effect of high water temperatures (34-38 °C). BACKGROUND: Fatigue is a common complaint in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Fatigability is well described in ambulatory SMA but the relationship to perceived fatigue has not been evaluated. Understanding this relationship has proven challenging for most disorders.

BACKGROUND: Given improvements in multimodality therapy, survival among children with Wilms tumor (WT) exceeds 90%. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of cladribine treatments in a population of patients with refractory myasthenia gravis (MG).
METHODS: In a prospective open-label study of cladribine in refractory MG, 13 patients received cladribine at baseline with repetitive cycles driven by clinical response. A Myasthenia Gravis Composite (MGC) score was obtained and a standard dose of steroids was administered.
