PURPOSE: To examine diagnostic reference levels (DRL) and achievable doses (AD) of image-guided and size-specific dose estimates (SSDE) and organ and effective doses of CT-guided intrathecal nusinersen administration to adult patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

The skin reaction to radiation is regularly monitored in order to detect enhanced radiosensitivity of the patient, unexpected interactions (e.g. with drugs) or any inadvertent overdosage. It is important to distinguish secondary disease from radiation reaction to provide adequate treatment and to avoid unnecessary discontinuation of radiotherapy. A case of bullous eruption or blisters during radiotherapy of the breast is presented. Differential diagnoses bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus vulgaris, and bullous impetigo are discussed and treatment described.

The frequent human exposure to various types of indoor lamps, as well as other light sources (television monitors, tablets and computers), raises a question: are there risks for the population? In the present study the emission of UVA and UVB radiation by lamps and screens of electronic devices were measured in order to determine the safe distance between the emitting source and the individual. We concluded that the lamps and electronic devices do not emit ultraviolet radiation; so they pose no health risk for the population.

Dynamic hepatobiliary scintigraphy is the only method which enables non-invasive monitoring of regional function of liver parenchyma.
