PURPOSE: To compare the career longevity of professional soccer players after achilles tendon rupture (ATR) with that of an uninjured matched control cohort.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis of ATR cases in professional male athletes from the English Premier League and English Championship was performed. Each athlete with ATR was matched to three control athletes who had not sustained ATR.
