We describe a case of fatal asthmatic attack in 27-year-old woman with type II brittle asthma and pollinosis. Despite recurrent episodes of severe asthmatic attacks she refused prolonged therapy with the exception of beta 2-agonists used when needed. The day prior to the fatal attack she was intensively exposed to pollens. She ineffectively tried to manage the attack with high doses of beta 2-agonists administered by MDI and jet nebulizer. AIM: To identify factors contributing to patient nonattendance at an outpatient cardiac rehabilitation programme following hospital admission for a first myocardial infarction.
METHODS: Consecutive patients admitted over a two year period to the Auckland or Green Lane Hospital Coronary Care Units for a first myocardial infarction were identified. All patients had been invited to attend the cardiac rehabilitation programme during their admission. A questionnaire was mailed to all identified patients.

To identify the reasons for non-immunization/postponing immunization, parents of 615 poliomyelitis (APM) children and 908 children attending the Outpatient Department (OPD) for other ailments were interviewed. A total of 165 (26.9%), 185 (30.1%) and 264 (43%) among APM and 645 (71%), 183 (20.2%) and 80 (8.8%) among OPD children were immunized, partially immunized and unimmunized, respectively. Jail inmates represent a high-risk, multineed population. Why do some jail inmates not access available programs and services? Drawn from a longitudinal study, 261 adults were assessed shortly upon incarceration and reassessed prior to transfer or release from a county jail. We presented three cases of anomalous single coronary artery detected incidentally during routine coronary angiography. The presenting symptoms were chest pain, angina pectoris, and exertional chest pain, respectively. Adolescents and young adults appear to be a particularly high-risk group for problems of non-compliance and associated graft loss. We reviewed the progress of 20 young adults (9 female) who had been transferred to three different adult centres at a mean age of 17.9 years (range 15.7-20.9 years) having been transplanted at a mean age of 14.3 years (range 9.6-18.1 years) in the paediatric unit. In this part of Malaysia, consent of splenectomy is virtually unobtainable, so we studied the outcome of ITP without this treatment option. Thirty-two adult patients were seen, but 7 defaulted before therapy evaluation. Of the remaining 25, 17 achieved a complete remission with prednisolone, but in only 8 was this prolonged. The goals of this study were to determine the risk of dying by withdrawal from dialysis over time and to elucidate pertinent clinical correlates in 716 long-term dialysis patients. Chemoradiotherapy is increasingly used in advanced laryngeal cancers. Failures are generally managed by surgery. They include histologically confirmed recurrent or residual disease or a symptomatic life threatening treatment sequelae. Tumour recurrence or residivism can be managed by chemotherapy when radical surgery is either refused by the patient or if the general condition of the patient do not permit it. However surgery becomes inevitable when life threatening treatment sequelae like absolute pharyngo-oesophageal stricture and aspiration sets in.

Professor Otto performs occlusion to achieve dominance in one eye. Of 300 cases treated he has operated on 147 for an exodeviation. Dr. Pestalozzi prescribes prismes based on the Polatest to reach perfect binocular vision. In 175 cases he operated on 43 dyslectic children for an esodeviation. BACKGROUND: Standard treatment of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the anterior nasal mucosa is surgical resection with or without postoperative radiation.
METHODS: Retrospective review of patients diagnosed with SCC of the nasal cavity between January 2000 and July 2018 who refused total rhinectomy and who were treated with radiation with or without chemotherapy with curative intent.
